Issue de réunions amorcées en 1955-1956 sous l'impulsion de Philip Klutznick et Nahum Goldmann, et formellement établie en 1959, la Conference of Presidents fédère une cinquantaine d'organisations juives américaines majeures. Basée à New York, elle agit comme voix consensuelle de la communauté juive américaine, notamment sur la sécurité d'Israël.
