The community at the foot of Olympus is arrested during the spring roundups in Macedonia and taken to convoys in the north of the country.

The community of Katerini, at the foot of Olympus, was arrested during the spring roundups in Macedonia and taken to the convoys assembled in the north of the country. The families lived from trade and the crops of the plain; some had found refuge in mountain villages, where local inhabitants hid them until liberation. Those who were taken in Katerini did not return. The city has had no Jewish community since then.
