Railway junction in Volhynia where the community lived from workshops and commerce, Zdolbouniv sees its enclosed quarter surrounded at dawn, its inhabitants led to pits prepared at the city's edge.
Zdolbouniv, a railway hub in Volhynia, had seen its Jewish population grow with the line's workshops and the cement factory. Confined in an enclosed quarter along with the Jews from neighboring localities, they were led in columns toward pits dug near the railway line and shot during the summer, in the course of the campaign that emptied the ghettos of the region.
