An ancient city in Galicia dominated by the ruins of its fortress, Trembowla sees its community penned up then carried off by autumn and winter roundups, the sick and elderly being shot on the spot.

Trembowla, dominated by the ruins of its castle, was home to an ancient and impoverished community, living by craftsmanship and peddling. It was gathered into an enclosed quarter together with the Jews from neighboring localities, decimated by typhus, then emptied by successive convoys; the sick and the elderly were shot in the streets at the time of the liquidation.
