A textile town on the Pilica whose ghetto, one of the most populated in the district, was emptied in autumn toward Treblinka.
Tomaszów Mazowiecki, a textile town between Łódź and Radom, was home to a large community employed in the spinning mills and cloth trade. The occupation established an enclosed quarter there, one of the most populous in the district, which received Jews from neighboring towns and those expelled from the annexed region. Forced labor was organized around the requisitioned factories. In the autumn, the quarter was emptied in several operations toward Treblinka; the sick were shot in the streets. A labor camp was maintained for several months around the workshops, then evacuated to the camps of the Reich.
