A salt-mining town south of Galicia, Solotwina sees its Jewish population emptied in two operations, some shot at the edges of the town, others taken to the neighboring city.
Solotwina, a salt-mining town at the foot of the Carpathians, was home to a community that lived off extraction, timber, and small trade. Under the occupation, Jewish families were registered, stripped of their property and livelihoods, then gathered in the town square before being led to the enclosed quarters of the region. Those deemed unfit for work were shot in the surrounding woods; the others were deported in convoys to the extermination camp.
