Jews of Sarajevo remaining in the city after the first raids are regrouped then handed over to Ustaše camps and convoys to the east; the Sephardic community of Bosnia ceases to exist as a body.

The Jews of Sarajevo still present in the city are rounded up and deported, following the arrests and convoys of the previous year to the Ustasha camps. The operations are carried out by the regime's police, with the assistance of German services. Those in Sarajevo who escape the roundups join the mountains or cross into the Italian zone, where several find temporary refuge. The Sephardic cemetery of the city, terraced on the slopes of Trebević, remains as a witness to this community.
