The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

The Jews of Dubno are shot at the outskirts of the city; the testimony of a German engineer present at the scene, read at the Nuremberg trial, is among the most cited accounts of the Holocaust by bullets.

Town in Volhynia whose Hebrew printing press and schools had earned renown, Dubno sees its Jewish population enclosed in a ghetto, then led in waves toward open pits at the outskirts of the airfield. The craftsmen temporarily retained for the military workshops are shot in their turn when the ghetto is dissolved; a few families hidden in the villages survive until liberation.
