Einsatzgruppe D shoots Jews and Krymchaks from the town and peninsula.
Simferopol is the administrative capital of Crimea. Einsatzgruppe D operates there from the time of the seizure of the peninsula, targeting both the Jews of the city and those of the surrounding towns, gathered in successive convoys.
The Krymchaks, a Turkish-speaking Jewish community established in Crimea for centuries, are targeted in equal measure despite their appeals to the occupier. The executions take place in December, on the outskirts of the city, and continue throughout the winter across the rest of the peninsula.
