The Jews of Ielyzavethrad-Kirovohrad are gathered and shot by an Einsatzgruppe C commando.

The Jews of the city known as Ielyzavethrad before it was renamed Kirovohrad are rounded up and shot by a commando unit of Einsatzgruppe C.

The city had lent its name to the first pogrom of the wave that followed the assassination of Alexander II, sixty years earlier. It had witnessed one of the worst massacres of the civil war. This superposition of three destructions across three generations is shared by many cities of Ukraine, and it explains why almost nothing remains of them.
