The Ravensbrück camp, north of Berlin, is opened for women; it receives German Jewish detainees, then women from all occupied Europe.

The Ravensbrück camp, opened north of Berlin, is the regime's main concentration camp for women. Jewish detainees are interned there from the first months, in a separate barrack and under a harsher regime. The camp will also become a training center for the female guards sent to other camps, and will receive, until the final days of the war, the convoys arriving from the East.
