Zenkiv, a townlet in the Poltava governorate, had a Jewish population that lived from trade and crafts. During the civil war, the Jewish shops of the townlet were looted and their owners beaten by armed bands. The townlet had no force with which to resist. It appears among the localities of the Poltava governorate that post-war investigations recorded as having suffered a pogrom.
