The community of Straubing, on the Danube, was destroyed during the Black Death.

It appears in the lists of Bavarian communities annihilated that year, along with Ingolstadt, Passau and Munich.

The town lived off the trade in salt and grain on the river, and its Jewish moneylenders financed this trade. The property of the dead passed to the duke and the council, according to the division that took place throughout Bavaria that year.
