the community destroyed

The community of Nördlingen was destroyed during the Black Death.

It had already been struck by the Rintfleisch bands half a century earlier, then reconstituted itself around the city's great fair. Jews returned there again after this second destruction, and Nördlingen remained until the fifteenth century one of the best-documented communities in Swabia.
