the community destroyed

Nördlingen, a free city of Swabia at the crossroads of trade routes, lost its community during the Rintfleisch massacres. The Jewish quarter was reconstituted there afterwards and would be destroyed again during the Black Death.

The cycle is that of nearly every city in the Empire: destruction, a new authorization a few years later because the prince or the city needs credit, then the next destruction. Each return is paid for with a more expensive right of residence and a narrower status than the one before.
