The community of Bonn was destroyed during the wave of the Black Death in the Rhineland.
In the previous century it had given rise to Ephraïm bar Jacob de Bonn, chronicler of the persecutions of the Second Crusade, to whom we owe the account of the massacres in the Rhine valley: the city that had preserved the memory of the killings was itself destroyed in turn.
