Arnold von Uissigheim's band destroys the community
Forty years after Rintfleisch, the same small town of Röttingen witnessed the same violence begin again. A knight by the name of Arnold von Uissigheim gathered a band of peasants and destroyed the community that had reconstituted itself in the meantime.
He was called the "King Armleder," after the leather armband worn by his men. Arrested and beheaded the following year, he did not put an end to the movement: other leaders took up the name and the band, and the massacres continued for three years throughout Franconia, Alsace, and the Rhine valley.
