(Polish turned-wood Purim grager)
描述
Rattle (ra'ashan, grager) with toothed wheel and flexible wooden blade that clicks as the crank turns. Fashioned by wood turners of Eastern European villages, it served to cover the name of Haman during the reading of the Megila. Popular and inexpensive model, sometimes painted in bright colors, handled by children at Purim.
