充实大书רימוני תורה מכסף מתימן
(Silver Torah Finials (Rimonim) from Yemen)
描述
Pair of finials adorning the shafts of the Torah scroll, called rimonim in allusion to pomegranates. Jewish goldsmiths of Yemen, renowned for their mastery of filigree and granulation, made fine openwork structures in the shape of towers or bulbs, sometimes fitted with small bells. The delicate work of silver thread is characteristic of Sanaa.
