Mathématicien hongrois d'ascendance juive, professeur à Szeged. Considéré comme le fondateur de la logique mathématique et de l'informatique théorique en Hongrie ; il a notamment établi la décidabilité de certaines classes de formules du calcul des prédicats et fondé le laboratoire de cybernétique de Szeged. Membre de l'Académie hongroise (1949), prix Kossuth (1950).
