Membres d'une famille juive séfarade installée en Égypte. Raphaël Suarès fut vice-président du Crédit foncier égyptien (1880-1909) et cofonda, avec Sir Ernest Cassel, la National Bank of Egypt en 1898. La maison Suarès Frères participa au financement de grands travaux et chemins de fer égyptiens.
