Traducteur et poète hébreu de Barcelone, actif vers 1230, ardent défenseur de Maïmonide lors de la controverse maïmonidienne. Il traduisit de l'arabe en hébreu plusieurs œuvres philosophiques et éthiques majeures, dans un style clair et élégant, et adapta un célèbre récit d'origine indienne. Il avait un frère, Judah ibn Hasdai, et serait le fils du poète Samuel ibn Abraham ibn Hasdai ha-Levi (1165–1216).
