La Mishna Beroura est le commentaire halakhique le plus influent du XXe siècle sur le Shulkhan Arukh (Orah Haïm). Le Hafetz Haïm (Rabbi Israël Meir Kagan) y offre un guide pratique clair pour la vie quotidienne juive, tranchant les divergences entre les décisionnaires antérieurs avec une méthode rigoureuse et une sensibilité pastorale.
Herdenkingsfunctie
Le yahrzeit du Hafetz Haïm (24 Elul) est largement commémoré. La Mishna Beroura est devenue la référence halakhique standard du monde ashkénaze orthodoxe.
