Poète israélien né à Tel-Aviv, l'un des chefs de file de la poésie d'avant-garde en hébreu (contemporain de Nathan Zach et Yehuda Amichaï). Il publie une vingtaine de recueils, expérimentant le langage hébraïque. Son premier livre, Berazim arufei sfatayim (Robinets aux lèvres coupées, 1954), fut d'abord éreinté par la critique.
