The Jews who took refuge in Saint-Martin-Vésubie cross the Alpine passes after the Italian armistice and are arrested in the Stura valley; interned at Borgo San Dalmazzo, they are handed over to the Germans and directed toward Drancy.
A camp is opened at Borgo San Dalmazzo, at the foot of the passes of the Alpes-Maritimes, to imprison the Jews who had found refuge in the Italian occupation zone of southeastern France and who followed the Italian troops in their retreat through the mountains. Notices posted in the valleys threaten anyone who might shelter them. Those who present themselves or are captured are locked up in a barracks in Borgo San Dalmazzo, then transported to Drancy and eastward. Some manage to hide in the farms of the Stura valley.
