City of armament factories whose Jewish population is deported in autumn, part retained at the labor camp of the powder mills.

Skarżysko-Kamienna, a city of armaments factories, sees its community enclosed in a sealed district from the earliest days of the occupation. The munitions factories employ Jewish labor drawn from across the region, in a camp whose conditions — particularly in the explosives workshop — make survival beyond a few months exceptional. In the autumn, the city district is emptied and its inhabitants directed toward Treblinka. The labor camp continues to receive convoys from elsewhere, until its evacuation toward camps in the Reich as the front approaches.
