The community of the city on the Narew, whose yeshiva had spread as far as the Holy Land, is driven from the ghetto in early winter and led to the neighboring transit camp, from which convoys depart toward an extermination center.
In Lomza, a town on the Narew with an ancient and sizable community, the enclosed quarter established during the summer is liquidated in the autumn: the inhabitants are transferred to a transit camp in the region, then loaded onto transports bound for a killing center. The roundups are accompanied by executions in the streets and at the Jewish cemetery. A few men kept for forced labor survive for several more months.
