In the depths of winter, the community of the spa town of Podolia was led to Zeleniy wood and shot; a second killing, a few days later, claimed those who had first been kept for labor.
Khmilnyk, in Podolia, was home to a community that formed a large part of the town's population. In the depths of winter, its Jewish inhabitants were led in columns to the Zelena forest and shot at the edge of pits dug into the frozen ground. A second execution, a few days later, took those who had been held back for labor; a few hundred craftsmen survived until the following year.
