The entry of German troops into eastern Galicia is accompanied in Zloczow by an onslaught against the Jews of the city, accused of crimes discovered in the prison; mass arrests and shootings at the castle continue in the following months.

The entry of German troops into eastern Galicia is accompanied in Zloczow by an unleashing of violence against the town's Jews, who are publicly accused of the crimes discovered in the prison at the time of the Soviet withdrawal. Residents are dragged toward the castle, beaten in the streets, and the roundups continue in the months that follow on the heights overlooking the town. The community, one of the oldest in the region, had maintained here a Hebrew printing press and several houses of study.
