Summoned by poster for a supposed census, the Jews of Loubny are led to a ravine on the outskirts and shot in one day.
In Loubny, in the Poltava region, the occupier employed the method already tested in Kiev: a notice posted throughout the city summoned the Jewish population with their papers and valuables, under the pretext of a census and resettlement.
Those summoned presented themselves of their own accord on October 16, 1941, and were led to a ravine on the outskirts, where they were shot in a single day by a commando unit of Einsatzgruppe C supported by local auxiliaries. Photographs taken by a German soldier during the wait were discovered after the war.
