The small town in the foothills of the Carpathes, renowned for its craftsmen and market, sees its community shot multiple times on the banks of the Cheremosh; the killers are a security detachment and district auxiliaries.
Kuty, a small town in the Carpathian foothills on the Tcheremoch, witnesses a first major massacre as early as autumn: Jews are gathered in the square and led toward pits dug on the outskirts. The operation is carried out by a German police detachment supported by auxiliaries, even before the establishment of an enclosed quarter. The survivors will later be grouped toward the provincial towns and deported in their turn.
