The Jewish population remaining in the mining basin is shot by Einsatzgruppe C in the weeks following occupation.

Kryvyï Rih is the center of the Ukrainian iron basin. The Einsatzgruppe C follows the Wehrmacht into the industrial cities of the Dnieper and applies the same method there: registration of Jews by the appointed municipal council, summons under an administrative pretext, march toward a remote location.

The executions take place in the weeks following the occupation, near the mines. As everywhere in the basin, a portion of the inhabitants had been evacuated along with the dismantled factories, and the victims are above all the elderly, the women, and the children who remained in place.
