Borough of the Carpathians where the hassidim of the local dynasty had their court, Kosow sees its Jewish population gathered in the square then led to the nearby quarry, where the shootings last an entire day.

Kosow, at the foot of the Carpathians, was a renowned Hasidic center whose court drew pilgrims from across Galicia. During the autumn, the Jews of the town were gathered in the market square, led to a nearby hill, and shot; the few survivors were then transferred to the region's ghettos. The archives of the court vanished at that time.
