The Jews of Haïssyn and neighboring hamlets are gathered and then shot; the survivors are compelled to work on the road that crosses Podolia.
A town in eastern Podolia where Jewish life had organized itself around its market and workshops, Haïssyn sees its population registered then penned in from the very first weeks of occupation. Able-bodied men are initially held back for the construction of the main road that the occupier opens through the region; the others are led outside the town and shot at the edge of pits dug in advance. Those whom the work site had spared are killed in turn when construction comes to a halt.
