Town in northern Bessarabia whose population was almost entirely Jewish, Briceni sees its inhabitants plundered and massacred in the first days of reconquest, survivors being driven toward transit camps.

Briceni, a town in northern Bessarabia almost entirely Jewish, is devastated upon the entry of the troops: houses are looted, some of the inhabitants shot dead in the streets, and the survivors gathered for the march toward transit camps, then toward the left bank of the Dniester.
