Jewish houses in the town forced and emptied, several inhabitants killed

Mourafa, a Jewish township in southern Podolia, was struck by the wave of pogroms that swept through the province. Jewish homes were forced open and emptied of their contents, stores carried off, livestock driven away. Several inhabitants were killed during the pillaging, others wounded while attempting to protect their families. The survivors, stripped of everything at the onset of winter, were compelled to seek aid from neighboring towns, themselves already ruined.
