Jewish houses in the town looted, its inhabitants ransomed
Khorol, a small town in the Poltava governorate, was home to a Jewish community of merchants and artisans established since the previous century. The civil war brought pillaging: Jewish homes were emptied, the community ransomed by passing detachments. The Poltava governorate, affected later than the right bank, in turn experienced violence as the armies retreated through it.
