Expulsion of the Jews of Ulm

1499·Ulm

Toll
toute la communauté

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

The Jews were expelled from the city of Ulm.

The imperial city of Swabia thus closed the long series of urban expulsions of the fifteenth-century German world: Augsburg, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Nördlingen, and many others had preceded it. What remained of Judaism in southern Germany was henceforth rural, distributed among the small towns of the Imperial Knights and the abbeys.
