The Duke of Mazovia expelled the Jews from Warsaw.

Mazovia was still a duchy distinct from the Polish crown, and its towns obtained the privilege of not tolerating Jews, which they retained after annexation; this is why Warsaw, having become the capital, had no Jewish community until the end of the eighteenth century, while the rest of the country was covered with them.
