The Jews were expelled from Neisse and the towns of Silesia in the wake of the preaching of Jean de Capistran.
Silesia then belonged to the Bohemian crown, and its towns obtained from King Ladislas the same privilege as those of Moravia. Breslau had led the way the previous year, following a staged trial for a desecrated host that took place during the preacher's stay; Silesian Judaism almost entirely ceased to exist for three centuries.
