the community burned
In Breslau, in Silesia, the community was burned. The city belonged at that time to the crown of Bohemia.
Central Europe was reached later than the Rhine valley, and sometimes before the plague itself. It is from these destructions that the great Jewish migrations eastward date: the survivors of the Germanic world made their way to Poland, where kings welcomed them by charter. Polish Judaism, which would become the most numerous in the world, took shape there.
