the community destroyed
The community of Tübingen was destroyed during the Black Death.
The city of the counts palatine, which would not receive its university until more than a century later, had at that time only a small community of moneylenders; it never recovered.
The houses of the community, at the foot of the castle, were taken over by the townspeople, and the cemetery was abandoned; the university later founded rose over a city without Judaism.
