The community of Rottenburg am Neckar was destroyed during the Black Death.

A Habsburg town in Further Swabia, Rottenburg was subject to a prince who protected his Jews in exchange for tribute; this protection gave way like the others.

The community, established in the lower town, lent money to the peasants of the Neckar; Judaism in the region subsequently reconstituted itself in the seigneurial villages rather than in the town.
