The community of Osnabrück was destroyed during the Black Death.

The city, an episcopal see between Westphalia and Lower Saxony, is among those whose martyrology lists have preserved the name.

The community lived near the cathedral and lent to canons as well as merchants. Its cemetery was taken from the survivors and its stones used elsewhere, as happened in nearly all the cities destroyed that year.
