The community of Horb am Neckar was destroyed during the Black Death.

The Judaism of the upper Neckar valley subsequently reconstituted itself in the neighboring villages, among them Rexingen, at the gates of Horb, which was one of the strongest rural communities in Swabia until the Shoah.
