Description

Hanging lamp of blown and enameled glass, comparable to mosque lamps, bearing Hebrew inscriptions and intended to light the synagogue. Medieval examples are rare.

Significance

It illustrates the integration of Eastern Jewish communities into the medieval Islamic glass arts.
