Silver circumcision wine cup (kos shel brit), Germany

Small footed cup used for the blessing of wine at the brit milah, a drop of which is touched to the child's lips. The engraved body often bears the formula "beda-mayikh hayi" ("in your blood, live") and the Hebrew date, sometimes a circumcision scene. It differs from the Kiddush cup by its inscription specific to the covenant.
