Description
Large ceremonial cup on a high foot, reserved for the prophet Elijah at the Passover Seder. The silver chalice is engraved or repoussé with vines, biblical scenes and sometimes the inscription Kos shel Eliyahu. Taller than the ordinary Kiddush cup, it stands at the center of the table awaiting Elijah's coming.
