Description
Silver box modeled in the shape of a citron (etrog), its surface hammered to imitate the fruit's skin, with a hinged lid. It protected the fragile citron during the festival of Sukkot. The silversmiths of Augsburg and Nuremberg multiplied this figurative model, sometimes set on a silver leaf as a stand.
