Enrich the Great Book

רעשן פורים מעץ מחורט מפולין

Description

Rattle (ra'ashan, grager) with a toothed wheel and a flexible wooden tongue that clatters as the crank turns. Shaped by village turners of Eastern Europe, it served to blot out Haman's name during the reading of the Megillah. A popular, inexpensive model, sometimes painted in bright colors, handled by children at Purim.
